Luft. Air, flight. Fluid design. But also ergonomics and comfort. Technology and research. An armchair for relaxation, reflection. A functional design inspired by the concept of relaxation and the desire to create an armchair that encourages informality. Pure comfort that envelopes body and mind, relaxing the user and placing them at one with the surrounding environment. One of the structural components of the Luft was deliberately externalised, made visible, ennobled. A sculptural element in die cast aluminium traces the profile of the armchair from the backrest down to the feet, also becoming its base. Completely seamlessly. A strong, graphical detail. To ensure the lightness of the lines and a pleasant effect whereby the seat appears to be suspended above the floor. The armrests and seat trace a perfect, elegantly curved line, bringing to mind the wings of a bird in flight. The Pelle Frau® leather cover accentuates its softness and comfort. The structure of the backrest and seat is produced from moulded rigid polyurethane with sides padded using polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. To make the armchair more comfortable, a beech wood frame was inserted in the centre to which the elastic-belt spring system is attached. The armrests are padded with polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. The seat cushion is in differentiated-density polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. The saddle that envelopes the front and back of the backrest is produced from polyurethane foam and polyester wadding upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather. The feet are made from die-cast aluminium varnished in grey and aluminium. Also available in chromium-plated aluminium. The stitches are quilted and top stitched with ton sur ton yarn. The edges of the saddle and the seat have a double top stitch that underlines its rigorous profile. The armchair comes with an optional lumbar cushion.
